Staff at Beddau Buddies will endeavour to make sure your child wears a sun hat when we go outside during the summer months; however it is the parent/Guardian responsibility to bring the hat into club, clearly labelled with the child’s name. Children who do not have a sun hat and wish to go out doors will be taken out for no longer than ten minutes and this must be in the shade. Beddau Buddies have the facilities for you to leave a hat in club should you wish to.
In Beddau Buddies we have a sun cream register which we ask parents to sign, by signing this register you are allowing staff at Beddau Buddies to apply sun cream to your child/children. Beddau Buddies supplies factor 50 for sensitive skin which is also waterproof. If you prefer to bring your own cream into club the staff will apply your cream but only with your written permission. Please ensure the cream is clearly labelled and again we have the facilities to store your cream in club.
We sometimes take the children out to play with water or sand; we also have the paddling pools out. Children will not be allowed out for any longer than 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon even with hats and cream on when necessary.
We also have a gazebo and camouflage nets which are always out for children who prefer the shade.
Outdoor risk assessments will be completed as usual.
